Mr. Caurana is the Principal of St Ignatius College within the Directorates of education in Malta. St Ignatius College comprises eight schools: 5 Primary and 3 Secondary Schools, with a total student population of over 4,000. He is also a member of the Educational Leadership Council within the Directorates of Education and a member of the team of educational consultants reviewing the Maltese National Curriculum Framework 1999.  Mr. Caruana works closely with the Director General for Quality and Standards in Education to introduce VET in the curriculum of the secondary schools.

Mr. Saliba is the Deputy Principal at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) in Malta.  His main professional responsibilities are: (a) implementation and development of the QA policy in MCAST’s nine institutes, (b) the coordination of academic matters within all institutes, including issues regarding the MCAST staff professional development, the review and development of our College curricula, syllabuses  and the holistic education of students, including pastoral care, counselling and careers guidance, sports, access to learning facilities, EU mobility programmes and sports. He is also the ESF 1.36 Project Leader since 2009 till October 2012. This project focuses on the launching of 21 top-up vocational degrees in eight Institutes for successful MCAST HND students and the CPD of our staff by offering them five degree programmes at Master’s level in Malta. This part of the ESF 1.36 is delivered in partnership with the German Institution of Fraunhofer Gesellscahft.  Furthermore, the Project also includes CPD for all staff through a number of Master’s scholarship scheme, short courses, and ad hoc training such as the training programmes delivered by BTEC Edexcel.
