About this Organisation:

The State Vocational Education Institute (ŠIOV) is a professional, methodological, advisory, co-ordinating and training institution. It is a budgetary organisation directly managed by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic.

SIOV is responsible for developing and testing new educational programmes, curricula and educational and training projects at secondary VET schools, as well as methodology for the development of curricula and new “maturita” school-leaving and final exams. It is also responsible for elaborating analyses and policies for VET systems development. The Institute provides for in-service training for VET teachers and trainers, organises other educational activities for teachers and trainers and for students of VET schools (exhibitions, study visits, competitions).

Gabriela Jakubová is Head of the VET Research Department in the State Vocational Education Institute. She is responsible for national curricula development, strategic, conceptual, methodical and analytical tasks and document elaboration. She is a member of AG ECVET and ACVET on VET in EC. She works as a member of TWG in Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic for establishing and implementation of National Qualification Framework in context of LLL.
