About this Organisation:
The work of the Ministry of Education and Research covers two policy areas: education policy and research policy. The Ministry is responsible for issues concerning child care, preschool classes, compulsory and equivalent types of school, independent schools, school-age child care, upper secondary school, local authority adult education, advanced vocational education, supplementary educational programmes, popular adult education, the university and higher education system, research, financial support to students and student welfare issues.

Malin Mendes is the Deputy Head of Unit for the Division of Upper Secondary Education in the Ministry of Education and Research. Her responsibilities include: governance of the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, including responsibility for issues related to inspection and quality assurance at the Inspectorate and issues related to upper secondary education, inspection and quality assurance in the new Swedish Education Act.
