Jennifer Mullis works for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (part of the UK Central Government). She has policy responsibility for Improving the Quality of the Further Education Sector (including vocational education and training). This covers the spectrum of policies from intervention in poorly performing provision to rewards for excellence. In previous roles she was responsible for Apprenticeship Policy; sponsorship of the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA); the development of the Connexions Service and approaches to young people not in education, employment and training.

Kim Ebrahim has had thirty years of experience in working in education and training after working in the hospitality sector.  He has extensive experience of quality assurance systems and inspection frameworks.  Previous posts held include Quality Advisor for the National Council of Vocational Qualifications; Vocational Qualifications Advisor for the Qualifications Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales and his current post is in the Department for Children Education and Lifelong learning in the Wales Assembly Government. He is a committed lifelong leaner and has led the development and implementation of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in Wales for the last four years. His main responsibilities include: statutory regulation of vocational qualifications in Wales, ensuring that they meet national standards as well as social and economic needs; strategic and operational development of Qualifications and Credit Framework in Wales; and working with colleagues throughout the UK on developing quality assurance systems and procedures and outlining issues within the development and implementation of the QCF. He is also a member of policy group developing systems and processes for regulated frameworks across Wales, England and Northern Ireland.
