About this Organisation:
The Swedish Schools Inspectorate is responsible for
- Educational inspection
- Investigation of complaints
- Approval of independent schools
The educational inspection is carried out through regular supervision and thematic quality evaluations. In the regular supervision the main focus is legality and the purpose is to ensure the right of each individual in relation to the Education Act. In the thematic quality evaluations focus is on quality aspects in the teaching and learning processes in relation to the results and performance of schools. The aim is to affect the work of schools and local authorities in order to increase quality and standards of achievement. Both regular supervisions and quality evaluations will be proportionate. The inspectorate is elaborating methods for risk analysis and for identifying good and poor performing schools.

Mr Lundin works as a Director of Education in the Swedish Schools Inspectorate. He mainly works with regular inspection and quality assessment of teaching and other elements of the school system. During 2010 he worked on a project together with the Dutch institute Cito in order to develop methods for quality assessment of teaching. He has also been part of a project where different qualities in VET were assessed. Mr Lundin is a former skills teacher and principal of upper secondary schools and adult education institutions.
