Inaugural meeting of working group on the professional development of trainers

The European Commission and Cedefop are jointly launching a thematic working group on trainers in vocational education and training (VET), a contribution to European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020). The group is holding its inaugural meeting in Brussels on 2 February.

The main focus of the working group is on VET trainers at the workplace in both initial and continuing training. Through peer learning among policy-makers and experts in the field, the working group will help develop policies affecting the skills and competence of vocational trainers and their continuing professional development.

The members of the thematic working group were nominated by the national authorities of the participating countries. During the first meeting the members will set the mission and main thematic priorities of the group, and agree on working methods, work plan and main outputs.
