Overview
EQAVET’s work programme for 2010-2012 builds on earlier work undertaken in the European Network for Quality Assurance in vocational education and training (ENQA-VET) and the Technical Working Groups set up by the European Commission within the framework of the follow-up of the Copenhagen Process.
The Work Programme outlines a number of key activities and deliverables which will contribute to the improvement of quality assurance in vocational education and training across Europe and support the national approaches to the implementation and use of the Reference Framework. Through implementation of the work programme EQAVET will:
- Set up a well functioning community of practice for the quality assurance of VET at European level bringing together the Member States, the Social Partners and the European Commission in a collaborative mode
- Provide technical and content support to the quality assurance national reference points, strengthening their position as key players in the area of quality assurance within the national context
- Strengthen links with the Lifelong Learning Programme and the Leonardo da Vinci projects
- Ensure that the quality assurance dimension of accreditation is fostered through solid cooperation with other European instruments to foster mobility and transparency such as ECVET and EQF.
The work programme suggests the range and type of activities which are necessary to ensure that the Recommendation is implemented in a way which embeds a culture of quality assurance throughout the EU. The main activities of the Network are Working Groups; Discussion/Reflection Seminars; Annual Forum; On-line reporting.
The Network has developed a communication strategy for the effective dissemination of the results of the various activities and the emerging policy useful material. It identifies the most appropriate communication channels and target audiences to best capture and deliver the information, messages and added value knowledge emerging from the work of the Network as a community of practice in quality assurance for VET.
