EQAVET Peer Learning Activity Higher VET and the role of quality assurance

Date: 20 March, 2018 12:00 - 21 March, 2018 17:00 Location:

Lanarca, Cyprus

The EQAVET Secretariat, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Culture in Cyprus, is organising a peer learning activity (PLA) for 30-35 participants who are interested in discussing Higher VET and the role of quality assurance.
The key focus of the PLA will be on VET qualifications level 5 to 7 of EQF provided outside the HE sector/provision. This PLA will look at how the provision of Higher VET increases the attractiveness and relevance of VET; and how quality assurance can contribute to fostering a parity of esteem between qualifications from the higher academic education and higher VET.

The PLA will be of interest to EQAVET national reference point, national stakeholders and policy makers.
During the PLA most of the available time will be dedicated to discussion following short presentations from three Member States: Cyprus, Austria and Denmark; and from UEAPME (European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), which recently conducted a project on EU approach to quality assurance in Higher VET. The PLA will be supported by a background paper and will lead to the publication of a policy brief by the EQAVET Secretariat.
