Online guidance on work-based learning and on aligning a quality assurance approach with EQAVET
The Bruges Communiqué highlights a series of actions to make vocational education and training (VET) a more modern and attractive option in order to support employability and economic growth, and strengthen social cohesion in Europe.
The Communiqué identifies specific measures which will help achieve the ambitious goals for VET at national level. In relation to quality assurance (QA), the Bruges Communique presents 2 strategic objectives to be achieved by countries. These are to: 1. ‘Establish a national common QA framework for VET providers -which also applies to work based learning- compatible with the EQAVET Framework by 2015’; and 2. ‘Establish a national QA framework in accordance with the EQAVET Framework by 2014’.

It presents examples of how some countries have developed their quality assurance approaches, particularly in relation to work-based learning, which are compatible with the EQAVET Framework.
This resource has been developed with the support of two EQAVET working groups in 2013-2014 and is based on the experiences of 24 Member States.
