Introduction

The 2009 Recommendation on the establishment of a European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for VET recommends that the four stages of the quality cycle, the indicators and the indicative descriptors are used to improve further and develop VET systems. For those Member States that have already designed and implemented a system-wide approach to quality assurance, the focus is likely to be on monitoring how well it is working. As such the two stages which will require the greatest focus are evaluation and review.

By considering these two stages Member States will be able to reflect on how easy it is to collate information on each of the indicators and reflect on information arising form the use of the indicative descriptors. This will also help Member States complete the Progress Review which will be distributed by EQAVET in summer 2011 and complete the National Report at the end of 2012.
