Estonia - Choosing a quality assurance system
In Estonia training providers choose their quality assurance model. Fewer than 10 per cent use an EQAVET model, though over 60 per cent of initial VET providers use a quality assurance model
The Estonian VET system invites training providers to select the most appropriate quality assurance system. This recognises that training providers use different approaches for formal, informal and non-formal learning.
Central to this approach is the belief that it is the outcomes of the system that matter rather than the particular system that is chosen. The current legislation recognises this element of choice alongside training providers’ responsibility for both quality and quality assurance.
