Belgium - Design, evaluate, certify and review of qualifications based on learning outcomes
The French-Belgian Service for Jobs and Qualifications (SFMQ) was created in 2009 with the objective of bridging the gap between the demands of the labour market and the training that is offered. It sought to create a common language amongst stakeholders including employers’ and workers’ representative organisations; and all the VET providers (education and training institutions that focus on initial and continuing VET) for the French-Belgian Community. The SFMQ is in involved the quality assurance of the design of qualifications based on learning outcomes, and the assessment, certification and review of qualifications.
This case study describes the working practices and the methodology underpinning the design of these qualifications.
