Romania - Networks for training providers

Romania is building a culture of quality assurance in institutions through supporting initial VET school networks

The Romanian national quality assurance framework in initial VET includes a standardised approach at both the system and provider level. The VET sector is moving from a centralised to a decentralised system based on training providers taking responsibility for self evaluation and quality assurance.

Developing a culture of quality assurance takes time. Encouraging schools to be more open to the needs of learners, employers and communities requires sustained support at the system level. One way of supporting this changing culture has been the promotion and support of IVET school networks. At present, all initial VET schools are associated with a network which supports cooperative activities in relation to monitoring, collecting evidence, staff training, peer learning and peer review activities.
