Finland - The Quality Management Recommendation
In Finland, since 2000, the Quality Management Recommendation has set out the characteristics of an excellent VET organisation. These requirements are linked to the four stages of the quality assurance cycle
The Quality Management Recommendation supports and encourages VET providers to pursue excellence when considering the quality of their work. The purpose of the Recommendation is to provide a framework for the long-term development of quality management in all types of VET. The Recommendations can be used to support:
- initial VET and further and continuing training;
- competence-based qualifications;
- curriculum development;
- school-based VET;
- special needs VET and apprenticeship training.
In addition, the Recommendation has been prepared so that it can be applied at both VET provider and individual unit levels. The method of implementation has been left to the discretion of VET providers and other users.
