Data dissemination

DEFINITION: Distribution or transmission of statistical data to users.

CONTEX: Dissemination covers all activities by statistical producers aiming at making data and metadata accessible to users. For data dissemination, various release media are possible, such as electronic format including the internet, CD-ROM, paper publications, files available to authorised users or for public use; fax response to a special request, public speeches, press releases.
